To improve the opening of the Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences (GAMS), strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with nativeand international scholars, promote the resources integration and multidisciplinary linkage, we intend to set up the open funding projects tosupport medical and related interdisciplinary scientific research work, promoteoriginal innovation ability, and obtain cutting-edge scientific research achievements. We are now calling for the guideline proposals for the openfunding from scholars all over the world.

1. Requirements for the proposals:

(1) Should be in regard of major needs or key technical difficulties in the medical field, especially areas of heart disease, oncology, nephrology, geriatrics, psychiatry and mental health, emergency medicine, and imaging medicine.

(2) Should be closely combined with the key directions and professional fields of the construction of national medical center, national regional medical center and high-level hospital, playing an important role in promoting the construction of major platform in national health sector. It should be aimed to break through the "bottleneck" and "final-step" core technologies, solve major difficulties in medical scientific research field or clinical work, and produce a batch of high-level landmark achievements which have good application prospects and transformation benefits.

(3) Should propose clearly the main technical difficulties to be solved, core indicators, project duration, ownership of intellectual property rights, capital investment forecast and requirements for project applicants.
