Recently, Stanford University and Elsevier Data Repository released the list of “World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2023”, in which 11 scholars from our hospital were included, covering such fields as oncology, nephrology, immunology, respirology, medical imaging, biomedical engineering, materials science, and analytical chemistry.

Yu Xueqing and Wu Yilong from our hospital were included in both the “Career-Long Impact List” and the “Anuual Impact List”. Zhong Wenzhao, Liu Zaiyi, Zhou Qing, Gao Ping, Zhang Yu, Yang Jinji, Zhang Yuelin, Peng Feng, and Huang Chengzhi were included in the “Single-Year Impact List”.

It is reported that the list is based on a systematic analysis of citation data in the Scopus database, and makes a comprehensive evaluation based on six key indicators such as citations, the H index, and the Hm index to select the world’s top 2% ranking scientists from nearly 10 million scientists in 22 fields and 174 sub-fields. It provides a measure of scientists’ long-term scientific research performance to more objectively and truthfully reflect the influence of scholars in domestic and overseas academic communities . Being included in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list means that a scholar has made outstanding contributions to the development of his or her research field and his or her research capacity is fully recognized.
